Well, Here we are again at the Christmas season with another busy year
behind us.
We started the year with eight Cardiganshire Corgi puppies and have ended
up with keeping two of them – a dog (Cadfael) and a bitch (Calon Lan) who
together with their mother (Emmi) have qualified for Crufts 2000. We now have
four dogs – the other being the last of our Rough Collies (Sparky).

Dave’s contract with Herefordshire County Council ended in January and
he was fortunate to be able to start work in February with a local Accountant’s
firm whose offices are not far from home; That job takes care of Monday to
Thursday while on Friday he carries on his work as treasurer to the City of
Hereford Charter Trustees.

In February, on St Valentine’s Day, Sian – our eldest daughter, became
engaged to Stephen and they plan to marry in July 2000. Plans are well ahead –
they are marrying in Hereford but will continue to live in the London area.
Stephen works in Local Government with Dagenham Council Executive department.
Sian also works in London, with Gulliver’s Travels, and has recently been promoted
to Contracts Executive.

Catrin, our
other daughter, also works in London – with the Performing Rights Society off
Oxford Street; She has joined the London Choral Society and was on stage in
Hyde Park for the Last Night of the Proms – in front of 50,000 people.
Brenda still continues with her singing and was once again part of the
Three Choirs Festival (in Worcester); In 2000 Hereford hosts it and she has
just passed her audition to sing with them in August. The Choral Society has
quite a few concerts, held in the Cathedral, during the year in addition.

Dave continues with pantomime; He played the Dame in February 1999 and
is in the chorus for the next panto; Rehearsals have been under way since
September – it is proving harder than being a ‘principal’ as he cannot get away with any mistakes
by ad-libbing!!
He was
hoping to get a lot more done on the ‘family tree’ this year but this has not
been possible – hopefully he can tackle it again after Christmas.
So that is
just a short summary of what has been going on in this part of the world.
Weatherwise,
we have been quite lucky – Hereford seem to be in a sort of dip that the bad
weather skirts around; We did have some flooding earlier in the year though. We
will not see any snow until February time if previous years are anything to go
by
It just
leaves me to wish you a very
Prosperous & Happy New Millennium.
